About me

Welcome to Zoltin_wanders! My name is Zoltin Kwerreveld, and I'm passionate about the environment and the people who live in it. Through my social media channels, I share my journey combining culture and nature in scientific research and travel videography. I aim to inspire by bringing the beauty of the world closer.

Mission

My mission is to deepen the understanding of relationships between people and their environments through fieldwork, observation, and storytelling. I document how ecological change transforms everyday life, how people interact with the natural world and how cultural knowledge is shaped by landscapes.

By combining ethnographic-, and ecological research, I aim to make human-environment dynamics accessible, understandable and meaningful. Not from a distance but from the ground, in forests, mountains, deserts, riverbanks and villages where real life is happening. I believe in learning through presence, curiosity and respect: listening to communities, observing ecosystems, and letting the world reveal itself.

Like the great field explorers and conservationists who came before us, I want to combinem knowledge and emotion, research and empathy, human and nature. All while inspiring a more respectful and connected way of living on this planet.

Vision

Thanks in part to my studies and my travels, I'm learning how valuable the Earth is and the people who live here. Understanding eachother is crucial for a healthy society. I believe we should do our best to understand each other and the world, instead of looking for differences. My goal is to share this with as many people as possible. Because I believe there's little point in telling you what's right and wrong, I think it's better to offer footage and data to let you decide for yourself. Through my work, I try to provide nuance on topics like different forms of life, or guilt versus responsibility.

The images I capture can support the development of one's own perspective, by showing that differences across the world also offer beauty and similarities. And I want this to create not only awareness but also hope, that together we can make a difference on this earth.

Inspiration

I draw my inspiration from my surroundings. This can be people with special actions or inspiring quotes. Nature is also a source of inspiration; both animals and landscapes affect how we feel and see our surroundings. I love questions the most. Questions that arise from an image I see, or from what someone says to me. What inspires you to do what you do?

Background

My name is Zoltin Kwerreveld, I'm 20 years old and I'm from the Netherlands. I'm studying International Forest and Nature Management, specializing in (sub)tropical areas at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, with a minor in Cultural Anthropology at Radboud University. I grew up in Rotterdam, after which my parents moved to the other side of the country. There, they started a cider farm, Het CiderAtelier. This development allowed me to rediscover the power of being outdoors and further develop my passion for gardening. It wasn't long before I started traveling, on foot. After many kilometers, I realized I wanted to share this passion and make an impact by showing people that nature is valuable and that things can be done differently. Take a look at my work and be inspired to take action too!
