Projects

I have divided my projects and work into scientific research and film.

I'm in the final year of my studies, International Forest and Nature Management. For this program, I travel extensively for field research and practical experience in the Global South. I also travel the world with a film camera, searching for beautiful images and the relationships between people and nature. The images are the result of this search. You can find them on my social media channels at the bottom of the page.

Scientific research

Peru

From February to June 2025, I had the opportunity to intern at the Chaikuni Institute in Iquitos, Peru. There, I learned about authentic agroforestry practices and life in the Amazon rainforest.

I have conducted soil research on fertility and Soil Organic Carbon, and collected footage using my film camera.

Suriname

In November 2024, I traveled to the Surinamese rainforest for my studies. There, I had the opportunity to truly experience the rainforest. Research was conducted on the community forest around the village of Bigi Poika, for which a report on sustainable forest management was prepared.

I used this trip to gain my first videography experience in the tropics.

Portugal

In the spring of 2024, I traveled to Portugal with fellow students to conduct ecological research in Faia Brava National Park, focusing on prey availability, particularly for the rare Bonelli's Eagle. It was also where I found my faithful four-legged friend, Bodan.

Film

Project Culture/Nature

I'm exploring the relationship between humans and nature. How do different cultures interact with nature, and what can we learn from each other? I'll take you on a journey exploring this question.

I believe that breaking the nature/culture dichotomy is essential for international success in nature management, research, and development. By separating "me" and "nature," it becomes easier to lose empathy for it. We are not separate from our environment. If we lose empathy and see nature as non-human, then the large-scale extraction of resources from nature is far too close to home.

Let's be open to different perspectives on nature, and by discovering them together, let's share this awareness and love in our environment!

Morocco

In summer 2025, I traveled to Morocco with my girlfriend Julia. It was a true revelation regarding culture and social perspectives. We received countless warm welcomes, from shared meals and campfires to a wedding in the Atlas Mountains! This trip is a testament to intercultural love, respect, and acceptance, both internationally and geographically.

Freedom

Life in a van, might sound ideal. But, in reality it is part of the quest for a pure way of life. Being tied to a home on wheels offers the freedom I need te go wherever I need. I'll share with you my experiences of living in a campervan, while exploring the bounderies of planet earth.

It's an old ambulance, a 1982 Renault Traffic. Being an oldie, it breaks down sometimes, but that's part of life, right?

Sailing

How do you explore the world when preserving our natural environment is dear to your heart? There are few options for a trip across the ocean if flying isn't an option.

A sailboat is one of the best options for adventurous nature and life explorers. I will be working behind the scenes to prepare a trip around the world with my girlfriend. Any help or knowledge you can give me is welcome, so feel free to send me a message on social media.

Get inspired by the projects!
